Mikasa's Last Legacy's Story..... After producing six colts in a row, we bred Mikasa once again, hoping for a filly. Unfortunately, during the breeding, Mikasa was kicked by Cheval, leading to the devastating decision to put him down. It’s hard to describe the feeling of losing a beloved animal who has so profoundly shaped your life and helped build the very foundation of your stables. Saying goodbye to Mikasa felt like a part of my heart had died, with a piece of my soul going with him. He was such an integral part of my journey and identity. But just two weeks later, a ray of hope shone through when we discovered that Chev was indeed pregnant. The outpouring of love and support from my husband and friends, who organized a surprise baby shower for me, filled my heart with unforgettable joy. The barn was filled with pink from all of my family & friends, and we eagerly awaited the arrival in hopes she would be a filly. This foal—Mikasa’s Last Legacy—is his final gift to me, a precious reminder of his enduring legacy. Thank you, Mikasa, for blessing me with your last filly. We are incredibly proud to be part of Moriesian history, having produced the first registered Moriesian stallion, the first of the second generation in 2003, and now the upcoming arrival of the first third-generation Moriesian, due in 2025. Legacy’s third generation foals will be attributed to years of dedication and hard work. It is a privilege to continue Mikasa’s legacy through this remarkable new chapter.

Inheriting her gorgeous head and big kind eyes from her sire, Brady's Black Label, Crystal was our first & main broodmare.
Aside from Mikasa, Crystal produced only fillies by Nero.
In 2023, we said goodbye to Crystal as she was laid to rest overlooking our stables at age 34.
Her absence is deeply felt, both by us and by the many people she inspired during their riding lessons.
In her later years, she acquired the name Grandma Crystal by babysitting newly weaned foals.
Even during her later age, she still loved to pack the kids around, who adored her for her calm patience and nature.
